Can't give you much specifically about fishing, but will tell you to watch yourself if you go upriver from the launch in Wrightstown. It gets really shallow. Found that out personally, thankfully just at idle speed. There could be a channel to stick to, but didn't see any markers. This was a few years ago, though. Maybe things are marked now/later in the season.

Trying to bring this one back to the top from time to time as I just moved to the area and like to chase bass.  From the little bit on here that I've read, this stretch looks for smallies.  Besides the typical spinnerbaits, cranks, senkos is there any other ways to catch them that work well?  Any stretches of the weather that are better than others?  Any hazards that I should look out for in the river if I run the boat up and down?

Thanks for the info and tightlines everyone!

Da Lunka - You should be able to paddle a little ways up Plum Creek but there is quite a bit of deadfall and strainers that get carried with the current in high water.  Water clarity is poor, so take your time.   There are at times, smallies and northerns up in the creek but it will be mostly rough fish.

Went fishing by the Wrightstown boat launch, shore fishing.  Brought some suckers and was using hard plastic lures.

Caught a decent sized Smallmouth and the fisherman next to me and the lady caught another (he was jigging small bait).

The spot was promising and looking to head back soon.

I see people fishing from the bridge that crosses the creek that empties into the river next to the boat lauch in Wrightstown. I think its called Plum Creek. What types of fish are caught there, and could a guy take a canoe up that creek?
