Had an hour to kill and fished below the damn. First time fishing the river. Cast Gulp minnows and crawlers all over and didn't get a bite. It was downright chilly out when the sun was behind a cloud and the wind started howling. No fish for me but saw another kid catch a few catfish or bullhead on crawlers.

Never knew about fishing the Fox in Waukesha.     Im always more north or west.      What parts of river have shore access that you're seeing musky and such?       I have a feeling my 19' glass boat is a little to big for this river in that area.    Thanks

Fished this morning. The river was pretty clear and I could see about 15 different species of fish swimming around. Caught a decent muskie on cut bait of all things. Lots of small to medium sized panfish.

And hopefully now that it's been posted any one trying  to snag them will get busted. I walk around down there almost daily with my kids, when weather permits and will call the DNR. Not much of a sportsman if you think snagging one of these is sport. Plus now with all the cameras you probably won't get away with it.

There are schools of muskie stacked up below the dam right now spawning. Obviously targeting them is illegal right now but its a good chance to see then "in action"! Just walk around by the dragonfly...you can even get a chance to touch one (very gently!) as they pass by. Please be especially respectful to the muskie this month.

Walleye is closed until game fish opens, on this stretch of the fox. I was fishing below the dam years ago for walleye and got busted, didn't know I was doing something wrong. Got ticketed and the warden said I needed to look closer in the regulation book. He pointed it out in the book for me. But the year prior, I caught a 28 1/2" eye there. Only one I've every caught below the dam.

The stretch of river in the city would be a waste of time to try for walleye. Fished all through the city since I was a kid(30 plus years) and have only seen 2 walleye caught. I could be wrong. Mite have some luck on northern though. From the damn down to Bethesda park. But honestly I wouldn't waste time if your traveling from a distance
