I fished again early this morning. I caught a nice 18'' bass right away & a few crappies & gills. The only fish that were really active was large shiners. I caught several of them. I left after a few hours to go try try Beaver Dam River.

I fished both Saturday & Sunday morning. I caught plenty of crappies, a few gills, 9 bullheads, & 2 pike. All pan fish & bullheads were caught on plastics or garden worms. Pike were caught on a crank bait. The big crappies were about 10'' long. One pike was 29'' & one was small. No walleyes.

I took a vacation day on Friday so a vacation day for Whoppers usually means a little fishing time. I went up to the dam Thursday evening. The river is full of crappies. I started catching many crappies on plastic. I ended up with 16 decent ones plus 2 big ones. I also caught 2 nice bullheads. I also fished up there early Friday morning. I couldn't get anymore of those big crappies to bite. Only small ones so I quit fishing after about a hour.

Another opener another day @ the dam. Thousands of buffalo carp in the river. Most all of them were the same year class about 2 pounds. Good thing is they really weren't biting much or you could not have caught anything else. I fished Saturday from about 8:00 to 1:30 & ended up with 22 bluegills, crappies & perch. These were the nice sized ones. I also caught many small mostly crappies. I also caught 3 bass 1 being 18'', 2 sub legal walleyes, 3 bullheads & some buffalo. All fish were caught with a small jig with a piece of night crawler, or wax worm & plastic for bait. It was impossible to cast any lures with all the carp up there. I also went Sunday for a short time & only caught 2 nice gills & 3 bullheads. If it was possible there seemed to be even more carp there.

I went fishing there on the opener in the morning until around 1:00. My friend & myself caught 14 nice large mouth bass, 2 pike, 14 keeper perch, 8 keeper crappie, & 1 nice bluegill. We also caught many small crappie & perch. All game fish but 1 came on crank baits or spoons & I think we could have caught more but there were so many people down there that is was hard to cast. All bass & pike were released. Pan fish bit on a many different bait from minnows to plastic tipped with wax worms. Also a few on worms.
