I read your comments and would like to set the record straight. Yes, I have a small resort on Fishtrap Lake and the water and fishing is really good. Yes there is heavy weeds along the shore during the summer but that's what makes the fishing good. Plenty of cover for bass and other game fish to grow. Just like any good Musky lake, you have to know what you're doing and you can get skunked if you're not fishing hard.
Here's what the DNR has listed for Fishtrap Lake. If you disagree, then take it up with the DNR instead of complaining on forums like this.
• Musky (Common)
• Panfish (Common)
• Largemouth Bass (Common)
• Walleye (Common)
• Smallmouth Bass (Present)
• Northern Pike (Present)
Attached are some of the photos of fish caught on Fishtrap Lake this year from our guests. One guest caught two 30"-40" muskies in two days from a kayak and he was trying to catch bass. He also caught dozens of bass.
I'm curious; how many days and hours did you spend on the lake?
