MOON PHASE (79%)
Waning Gibbous

If you go out of the boat launch  walk out to the point on the north shore, most of the lake has a deep drop off on it, gills like the 15 to 18 foot depth right on the bottom, pike and bass can be caught on the far West end of the lake

I havent fished this lake since if froze out.. i hear its coming back a little bit but if people keep catching the planted fish what good is it doing planting them. This use to be my favorite lake for gills and crappies.. i miss this lake and probably will give it another 10 years before i go out there again.

Finnegan Lake Walleye Club annual fishing derby will be held this Saturday, February 25th. Cash prizes for fish categories. Finnegan Lake and surrounding lakes are fair game. Headquarters for the derby will be held down at Zippel Park. Food, drinks and fun all day. Lots of great prizes on the general raffle along with bucket raffles and numerous impulse raffles throughout the day at the park. Come on down and support a local club thats puts money back into the lake and scholarships for highschool students.

Derby runs from 8am-4pm with drawings to start around 4pm down at the park.

There is a lake only about 1.5 times the size of Fin across the State in St. Croix County called Pine lake. It used to freeze out every hard winter. There have been two aerators that are turned in in late summer and late winter that have made the lake an absolute fish factory. Unless you have been to this lake in late winter you can't believe the amount of shacks and people on the lake and every one is catching fish! limits of nice crappies, walleyes, and blue gills all over the lake day in and day out. I personally caught 3 northern over 30 inches in the last two years out there. I am not saying aerators will attract more fishing pressure ( most people who fish Pine are from Minnesota's Twin Cities) but installing one is worth every penny and then some. The fish cribs are awesome will provide tons of structure but you add an aerator and Finnegan will be producing more and larger fish than you every thought possible.

Some one let me know where I can join or help out the cause.
