The channel between Shunenburg and Sweet is usually about a foot deep.Depending on the size of your boat, you should be able to get into Smith, and into Shunenberg without too much trouble. There are springholes before you go into the channel up into Sweet that are worth some time. Nice Pike in Sweet.

Jpons, you may be able to pull a boat through. As for motor navigation its not gonna happen. however if the water is up a foot or so from the snow/rain etc you may be able to. Id still say no though but ya never know.

Its an easy go up to robinson through birch. Sweet is a great lake but sadly it has never been possible to navigate up to the head waters of the EC lakes.

Depending on what your after, robinson can be an awful good lake as well.

My folks live on middle eau Claire so if you have any question feel free to PM me.

Fished quite a bit during the labor day weekend, the bass were definitely scattered. Caught several in shallow reed beds on flippin jigs and turned around and fired the next cast out to some deeper weeds and caught another one with a tube. All of them were about 2 lbs, so not big. The baitfish are also scattered deeper then usual it seems, bluegills are lighting up the depth finder in as deep as 50 feet. I didn't even try fishing that deep. I usually don't see that in mid-summer. We'll see how things go again in a few weeks.

I've fished this lake spring through fall now for many years and usually have had great success, although I've found the fishing has been tougher the last few weeks as its been extremely hot and mostly sunny. However, I find them more difficult to catch after about mid-September, despite having a ton of success earlier than that. This seems weird. Any tips?

Bass fishing has been great! Fishing the weedlines in 10-15 feet has been good. Catching most fish on soft plastics but when they are aggressive x-raps are tough to beat. Walleye fishing has been good too during low light hours. We have been catching most fish pitching a jig and GULP! combo.
