Fishing the east river is always a blasted hardly get skunked. May-June catch lots of sheephead and once in awhile catfish, June-August catfish, perch, bluegill, pike, suckers, smallmouth bass. Hoping to get a salmon, walleye or brown trout this year.

carpassasin: It's pretty shallow in the East River. You'll probably run-aground quite a bit. Some areas are only about a foot deep at the most (the bend right under 172). You also may want to check your reg book about bow fishing in the area. I noticed that you asked about it in the Fox. I don't think you're allowed to bowfish below the Dam in De Pere. I live on East River Drive (off Hoffman Road)and will probably be trying to fish around Kiwanis Park a few times this summer. I've done well at Green Isle, but will be looking to try some different areas this spring/summer/fall. Drop me a line sometime if you'd like to join.

I'd like to try the East River for bowfishing, anybody know a good area to try shooting/launching? Does the east river even have any launches?

Where is the best spot to fish for carp on the East River? Looking for good shore access to put multiple poles out and tight line with some corn.

The water is still very cold. Nothing on crawlers last night but the minnows worked for sheepshead. Had too small a hook on my bottom rig but a floating jig on my light line rod kept the minnows in their face. No walleyes on plastics....this time.

Hooked on then tossed in some dead minnows on a slip sinker rig and then started to cast a Blue Squid rigged on a jig. Connected with what I thought was a nice sheeps but eventually a 26 inch walleye surfaced that I landed then released. My net was too small but I pushed it up on shore with it. The spawned out female got muddy but swam away just fine. Next I tried the live minnows for the slip rig. Casting, I snagged and lost the squid so that was it for bites.

I didn't target yellow bullhead but that was what I caught. The pack " D" didn't do it today.

Went last weekend for a little while, late afternoon. It felt good to wet a line again. Had a live minnow out on a slip sinker rig, while I pitched a jig/ twister tail. Caught and released a small northern on the second cast. Then I pinched off the minnow and got a big catfish right away. Didn't have crawlers to try so I was glad minnow pieces worked.
