Oh the shame... generalizations are dangerous people..
set your tip up 20 ft from me and my shanty without interaction yes I have a problem with it.. I wont say anything (maybe) but if your gear gets tangled in mine because you don't react fast enough to a tip up I'll just cut the line and enjoy the new swivel and hook
do I have ANY issue with those who have a tailgait fishing party? Not at all as long as they are safe and respectful and clean up after themselves! And of course mind the gear and flags.
be kind courteous.. as long as every one does that who cares how they enjoy themselves.
Someone just coming on to the lake should not have to ask permision to drill a hole because you have holes drilled way to far out from your shack.
If you cant walk to your tipup within a couple minutes your tipups are setup way to far from your shack.
Ive seen people setup so far from their shack they may as well move thier shack.
Ive been ice fishing for a long time and never said a thing. But you ice fisherman drinking beer and eating food and partying just have no common courtesy.
If your in a boat you an only cast maybe 50 yards so why set a tipup 100 or more yards away.
I saw a guy yesturday go to his tipup and couldnt even begin to see where he came from, he was so far away from his shelter.
All fishermen should start having a little more consideration for others.
You go out and pick a spot to fish and then set your tipups so far away that you need a sled to get to them. I DONT GET IT. HAVE SOME COMMON COURTESY FOR OTHERS
I think it really is time for some fishermen to start thinkng about others instead of just themselves.
Rule of thumb set a tipup so you can walk to it within 2 minutes thats far enough. Then people wont have to ask you if they can put in a tipup in the area cause you wont be spread all over the lake.
If you dont like my comments to bad think about what your doing next time you go out to fish winter or summer.

Basic tip-ups in with medium shiners. Jigging with "perch talker" with waxies on hook.
A flag roughly every 20 minutes, but due to aggressive perch.
Two Northern pulled out, countless Perch both jigging and on tip ups. All catch and release.
A few large perch, and one of the Northerns was decent. (30inch)
Location: 100 yards off boat launch, south side of the lake from Michaels.
