MOON PHASE (2%)
Waxing Crescent

ICE DEPTH
3 inches

Tread lightly if going on at the landing off of Menomonie Street. 6 inches turns to 3 inches in a hurry. Only fished an hour before dark. Few small bluegill and a tiny crappie. Be careful!

Edit: This report is for Half Moon.

MOON PHASE (64%)
Waning Gibbous

ICE DEPTH
3 inches

I made it out briefly.  There was 3-4" of ice- I weight 220 plus gear, and I am not that brave- I only went out maybe 20 yards from shore max.  There were a couple guys that beat us there- they  had one half way across the lake- I wanted the flag to go off just to see them go out there.  I got skunked ( rough weekend fishing for me- got skunked 3 times), but my father in law landed a nice fat 27" pike- it was really cool because with the thin ice it was really clear and you could see him fighting it (from a distance) under the ice.  Only flag in 2 ish hours.  Still nice to see a fish  iced.  Think with this cold it would be fine now.  Hope to get back out soon, but we'll see.

Good luck all - stay dry.

J

Many lakes in the area have fishable ice! Bring your ice gear for sure.

Hello

Going to be in town for Thanksgiving- was THINKING of checking first ice -- anyone been out?  Is it worth bringing my stuff yet?  Don't feel like getting wet- don't need fish that bad.  But if there is ice, would be fun!!!  :)  Message me or just post.

Thanks, good luck, Happy Thanksgiving and Go Pack!!

Went out poking around the ice on Half Moon to check conditions. Two inches at the most with entire lake coverage. With the weather as cold as it is, possibly fishable ice by early next week.

Lake Eau Claire, Woodland Store, carries all the bait you asked about.

Cenex on X by Lake Wissota, has carried bait in the past.  Hardware store in Chip, by Gordy's and Hardware store by Gord'ys Lake Wissota also carry minnows.

I am new to the area and was curious were all the bait shops are besides scheels.I would like to support the local guys more than a big store. I ice fish a lot so shiners, fatheads, crappie minnows are a must. I would also like to know who carries musky suckers around here!  Thanks in advance!

Also, I don't have anyone to fish with out here but I have a boat and everything for ice fishing and wouldn't mind going with someone every now and then!

PM if you'd like and we can talk there!
