have been out on altoona, half moon and dells pond.

Altoona had 5-6inches of ice west of the handicap fishing dock.

half moon has 6 or 7 inches but I was behind 10th Ave in the bay up against the rock wall. marked lots of fish. no takers. I only fished for 45 minutes.

dells pond is sketchy. some places I found 8 inches of ice. 250ft away, soft spots with grey ice. use caution. maybe a life jacket and safety picks if you go down the hill.

iceman. You could put it at Hobbs ice arena if the water is up enough. I would not recommend fishing with a deep v and a big motor there though. lots of pilings, rocks etc... Unless you know the river, it is very tricky to navigate...

Does anyone know a good landing to put a 16 foot v bottom Lund in below the dell pond Dam? I'm looking for a place I'm not going to tear up my motor and maybe have a few walleyes to chase before the regular fishing season starts. Thanks

River is slowly opening...around half open in front of the city shops, phoenix park almost open (the eddy still has a thing layer of ice). Going to be an interesting melt once all that snow/ice from up nort' gets here. I'll get a temp reading later today.

Cronk: Tried PMing you about that fault line. Let me know if you can.

The only boats ive seen below the damn in EC have always fished the east side. normally they anchor or tie of just to the west of the water discharge. there is a catwalk guys tie off at or just anchor at. As far as depth goes I can not say for certain. I do know its at least 20 feet deep during normal water levels. I heard some older fellas tell me its as deep as 37 feet. Im not sure about that.

you have to look at the topography and make a judgment on depth. Ive caught tons of eyes casting right up in the "garage". that's what we call the water discharge area. jig and minnow is straight money. That's a fun place to fish.. lots of BIG fish down there.
