That sounds fun. Bet Will would like traveling up a creek to another lake. I will definitely try both places.

If you're gonna give Benoit a try head through the channel and fish Rice Lake and the Yellow River. You'll find bass, both largemouth and smallmouth, walleye, and musky.

I have fished deer in Polk cty before. There is another I saw on the map by Webb lake. I like small lakes. Might try Connors....caddotte.....fish.....several little lakes like that. I will  try Benoit for sure. I will post reports and hopefully pictures!

I think Vger is thinking of Deer lake in Polk county. Up in Burnett county try Benoit lake towards Spooner. Nice lake full of bass, northern and muskie. Not too big or windy. Good Luck, Gus Gus

Thanks for the info vger. I have a small fishing boat that rides pretty low to the water. It doesn't fair well on bigger lakes if there is any wind at all. Yellow....Devils....Mckenzie....birch island....any of the bigger lakes in the area become not fish able for me with any higher wind.

deer lake has Muskie? doesn't list it on lake link. That's an added bonus.....Will my son would love getting a muske.  I have fished a few lakes in the area....Minerva, Burlingame, Faulk, long, Des Moines, lake 26........but want to try others too. Will is really wanting to get into some largemouth. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yes, it's a very nice lake.  Clean with viz to about 10' or so.  Primarily known for Musky but also a good walleye, base, and pan fish lake.  Work the weed line on the north shore of the lake for best results.  Jig and meat or plastic are good, cranks work well if you're doing a slow troll.

Good luck and tight lines.

Has anyone fished this lake before? Looks like a decent sized lake.

Just wondering if any one has any advice on finding crappies on this lake. I would like to try it but the last time I planned on it the landing was just too shallow. So any info on the lake level would be great too. I'm hoping all the snow we had this winter will help fill up all the starving lakes in this area. I know I'm not the only one who fishes in the area so hopefully this lake report will take off even though this is kind of a long shot.
