Yellow, white, and striped bass are not the same species.

Yes Inland Sweep the white bass/stripers, or yellow bass if you want to be a "Technical Terry" have really taken over this lake.  Wouldn't mind catching a nice sized one, but they all are really small.

Has the white bass population really exploded that much in this lake? Haven’t fished it in a couple of years but man we never used to catch those in there.

This is new to me. I have fished this lake for more than 40 years and never caught or heard of one caught.  Anything to thin the Striper population is fine with me.  I have caught some Northern and was hoping they could manage the stunted fish.  Whatever it takes this Lake needs some help!!!

Have heard of channel cats caught by buddies when bass fishing with plastics.  I would think it is a good thing, more and more inland lakes seem to have catfish showing up. 2 lake close to me they have showed up are Lac la belle and Rock lake.  I love cats, both catching and eating.  I would think they could definitely put a dent in any fish that is overpopulated, they are big fish eaters.

Seems like there are more channel catfish in this lake than I first thought.  Been hearing of more and more people catching them.  Any of you guys catch a cat out of here recently??  And I'm NOT talking about bullheads.

My friend caught a channel catfish from shore last week.  Yes a catfish NOT a bullhead.  I've caught thousands of yellow/brown bullheads in this lake over the years and caught my share of catfish on the near by river. I know the differance and this was about a 12" channel cat.

Also talked to an old timer on the other side of the lake who said he also caught a small channel cat as well.  He is also a reliable source of info.  Not sure what this will mean for the lake, or even if catfish can become a naturalized species in this lake.  If anything maybe they can grow up and thin out some of the stripers in here.  Any thoughts and opinions???

Walleye 1, I was there today and used the launch. But you will definitely need knee high rubber boots. And if you do use the launch be careful, as the concrete walk to the launch is very slick and slimy! I learned the hard way......lol
