Crystal froze over last night, at least most of it did. Some open holes, don't expect to get on it anytime soon. Will try to post updates as conditions change.
Pump for the lake has been turned on. Permit allows for 10 months of pumping versus the old 5 month permit. Discharge tollerances have been loosend, so unless Roxbury creek floods or an algae bloom of biblical proportions occurs which both have tendencies to happen. We can pump all the way up until August.
I've mentioned talks about a new boat launch being built at the old gravel quarry and moving the road behind it. That idea has been scrapped and the new launch will be moved East of there near the pump house, as it is deeper there. The land is sold the only thing preventing construction is lack of funding from Dane County.
This is new to me. I have fished this lake for more than 40 years and never caught or heard of one caught. Anything to thin the Striper population is fine with me. I have caught some Northern and was hoping they could manage the stunted fish. Whatever it takes this Lake needs some help!!!
