fished there for a week (8/6/16 - 8/13/16) caught a ton of gills on nightcrawlers that you can get from the bait shop in town. went thru bout 5 dozen in a week. also got a few nice bass on nightcrawlers. these were just off the pier. when we went out on the boat we targeted the weed bed on the far end and caught some nice gills, perch and bass. caught 7 bass in one morning on a spring on the eastern shore. texas rigged senkos and flukes work well for the bass. no walleye or pikes caught, not sure if walleyes are even there

Ended up beating the rain today and fished here for a little bit. Pretty little lake. Has a great up north feel! Got a whole mess of largemouth bass between 10 and 16 inches. Also a solid pike about 26 inches. Missed a few fish to. Pumpkin tubes tossed towards shore. Then just popped back slowly. Easy but fun fishing!

Went out tonight in 17 feet of water and caught 1 bass. Had ton of fish chasing my minnow but no luck, thinking they were bluegill and needed waxies. Wanted to go out deeper but saw a few holes that looked like springs..

The boys and I gave it a try from about 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, no walleyes found like I have been told, we did not fish prime time I know but we tried all the spots and methods minus using some of all the live bait options . All we had for live bait were the crawlers the boys are catching buy the hundreds after the rains. We did however find some bluegill, pumpkinseed and largemouth, a few of which were quite nice and all the fish were released safe and sound to catch again another day. The boys had a blast, thats all that really matters to me. Only boat on the lake just the way I like it.

We will try for the walleyes on a serious note soon though to see if they still exist as Lake Links report says they do.

The last walleye that I caught out of this lake was over 20 years ago. I heard of a couple in the last 5 years and they were in the upper 20" class. The lake really changed in the last 20 years the gravel and rock has silted up and weeds are growing there. I't more of a panfish and bass lake now.

I checked out the lake some years ago as it was mentioned to have Walleye in it. There was certainely no "classic" Walleye structure that I could see. My guess is that any stocked Walleye in the lake are going to be oriented to weeds and weed lines. Seeing as you live so close to the lake, why don't you do a little experimenting and let us know how you did? Living close by, you should be able to be there to fish at the prime times.

I've fished crane chase for quite a few years and have never caught a walleye. Used to be a good crappie lake but not anymore. Lot of blue gill/small perch/ave.notherns.

Can anyone tell me if they have ever caught any Walleye in Crane & Chase lake in Price county. I have three young boys looking for some close to home action for Walleye. Gas is to expensive to drive all over and this is close to my home. Lake link report shows it has some but can anyone tell me fore sure if it has them. A bait / time tip would be great also.

Thank You, Dan
