MOON PHASE (61%)
Waxing Gibbous

CONDITIONS
Partly Sunny

ICE DEPTH
7 inches
Made it up north this past weekend, fished Connors. This was the weekend NYE. There was about 7-8" of ice where I was fishing. Landed a couple pike and small musky on tips up and a few small walleye. Chased flags all weekend but most were spitting the bait before we could get to them. All fish were released.

Easy laddy, Connors is but one lake "Up North". There are many reports from what you call up north. Miller dam chetek red cedar lake rice lake turtle lake chippewa flowage turtle flowage Chequamagon bay to name a few. As for connors lake i know it has never had a lot of reports. We had a place in Hawkins and spent some time up there. It didnt get a ton of pressure if memory serves. (in the winter) Might have something to do with lack of reports.

OMG - Doesn't anyone fish on the ice up north?  Looking for fish reports, and ice reports.  Going to chase the resort owners out on the ice to check for us fishermen!

Did not make it down to Conners but there we a couple of guys fishing on Butternut and said they were out on about 2" of ice on Saturday.  Lake was open on Wednesday.  If we do not get a lot of snow, ice conditions should be good for walking this weekend.

Just a followup, conditions of the lake including ice depth, and access with vehicles? Hope to make it up for the Flambeau Fisheree the end of this month.

Friday the 17th the north end of the lake had a measured 7". Holes just east of the beach had around 4" with lots of water on top. Sloppy conditions. People were out on snowmobiles and I thought they were crazy. I would find a different lake, only got 2 perch and drilled 50 plus holes. Lake of the pines wasn't much better. Saw zero fish relating to the fish cribs and weed edges on the camera.

ICU- My family bought a place on Connors last fall and we fished it last winter for the first time and there was always people fishing by the launch. We did see one truck out there when there was a ton of ice so we decided we'd drive out (after we checked for ourselves and decided it was safe). In the spring we were up and one of our neighbors told us he saw us out there in our trucks and that he thought we were crazy and he wouldn't trust it even with the 20+ inches that were out there. He didn't elaborate, and we're not that familiar with the lake yet. Maybe there is springs? Not sure. We decided we'll stick to the snowmobiles and 4 wheeler until we hear otherwise that it is safe for sure.

I doubt it will be safe enough to drive a truck maybe four wheeler but I don't think the deep part of Connors is ready to be driven on by any bigger than fourwheeler. also lake of the pines is probably four wheeler only and if your going thru the channel you might want to check ice before driving thru it there are some big springs out there. I know that for a fact that there are some big springs I have seen a few. they can be as big as a 55-gallon drum sometimes.
