Talked to Craig at Bent's Camp yesterday, the bait shop is closed for the season. Thought I'd give everybody the heads up who'd be looking for Suckers.

No, I did mean East Bay. It has been very productive in the fall. I hope they don't move East Bay back to Boundry waters. I like 5 walleye limit and 50 perch limit rather than 3 and 25.

"Big lake has been the most productive lake that I'm aware of recently but East Bay...."

East Bay is MI waters, he'd need a MI permit. Or did you mean West Bay? Although there is talk again of moving East bay back to Boundary Waters.

Gonefishing, you might have more success on musky if you didn't limit yourself to just Mamie. Big lake has been the most productive lake that I'm aware of recently but East Bay is also a good lake to work this time of year. Suckers have also produced the last couple of weeks on Big Lake too. Eyes are just starting to get more active. Edge of the weeds on deep shorelines during early am or towards evening has been the most productive for me. Expect a ton of throw backs.

Heading up this weekend and wondering how the fishing has been.  Will be mostly on Mamie and targeting eyes and Musky.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.  Good to know.  You (or someone), might want to alert the Town of Land O Lakes.  They are responsible for the Big Lake (Cisco Chain) boat landing.

A WORD OF WARNING FOR THE BIG LAKE BOAT LANDING -- THERE IS A HUGE WASP NEST AT THE BOAT LANDING.

IT IS ON A BIG SIGN RIGHT NEXT TO THE PIER AT THE  BOAT LAUNCH.

DO NOT BUMP OR STAND NEAR THE SIGN VERY LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was out last Thursday and had 30 inches of ice. It came up real slushy so it won’t last long.  Bite was hot the first ten minutes and then died to nothing. Good luck and be safe

Another slow weekend of fishing west bay. Next time up, I’m planning on jumping to the Michigan side of the chain. Got between 10-12” of ice everywhere on west bay with 3-6” of snow cover. Travel by ATV is easy, my fishing tip is to target the deepest weed beds you can find. Back up in a couple of weeks...sure made a difference when the winds shifted out of the SW, seeemed like it blew the arctic stuff out of here. Nice day on the lake anyway...
