Planning to head up next weekend and wondering how the fishing has been. This is much later in the season then we usually come up unless were icefishing.  We will be targeting walleyes and Muskies. Any input will be much appreciated.

Look for water temps in the upper 30's, maybe 40. Suckers worked for us this past weekend over on Palmer. We stopped in by Bent's to get suckers on Friday morning, place was closed tight at 11am. So plan on hitting either Boulder or Land O for meat. Mediums at Northern Highlands Sports in BJ were 7.50, which isn't too bad really.

We are near a landing on a 100 acre Vilas Co. lake that averages 6 boats per day. Most are musky fishermen that make 2 laps around the lake and cast the shore. They will trailer their boat and leave only to be replaced by another boat within an hour. The handful of muskies in this lake have seen more lures than the sports show has to offer. Nobody ever gets anything here either...

I fished walleye this last weekend and yes... a ton of boats... little action.. got  few on the wooded shorelines, a couple on deeper rocks...used night crawler, fatheads and plastics...overall not a productive outing....This body of water is getting pounded more and more every year. Seems to be alot of boaters with very little respect for fellow anglers as well. But its getting this way all over Vilas county. Ive lost track of the times someone pulls right up within a cast length to fish the same down tree, or weed spot... make  3-4 casts and then roar out of there to hoard in on another angler.... it sure isnt what it use to be!  SAD!

fishing up to last Sat., has been good...but with so many boats up here, with that much traffic...it slowed right down.....seen 5 boats work the same spot watching out the window in a 3 hour period...more rigs last Sat. parked on Big Lake rd. than I've ever seen...& such big boats also,, & when you see a long bunk trailer..they're powering up & just ruining that wilderness launch more. So many rigs that someone hit my trailer, bent the left side rollers so bad that when I went home down B...the rude tourists were giving me the "Bronx Rave" caus the boat couldn't go fully up the trailer sitting so crooked, so I was going slow which the other motorists hate. Fishing will only get better. I would guess docks will get pulled next weekend which keeps may away which means less pressure.

Fished Big and West Bay last week for two days. Nothing in the weeds but picked up some nice shoreline smallmouth on West Bay and only one keeper walleye on Big Lake rock humps.

Hello, will be staying Big lake this weekend, just curious what the fishing situation has been lately and how it usually does this time of year. Was hoping for some input, I've heard that the north lakes are clearer than the southern WI lakes, feel free to pm me, I'll post a report after if I catch anything picture worthy.
