Thanx. Good to know. You (or someone), might want to alert the Town of Land O Lakes. They are responsible for the Big Lake (Cisco Chain) boat landing.

Another slow weekend of fishing west bay. Next time up, I’m planning on jumping to the Michigan side of the chain. Got between 10-12” of ice everywhere on west bay with 3-6” of snow cover. Travel by ATV is easy, my fishing tip is to target the deepest weed beds you can find. Back up in a couple of weeks...sure made a difference when the winds shifted out of the SW, seeemed like it blew the arctic stuff out of here. Nice day on the lake anyway...

Fished Big Lake from Dec 26th to Dec 30th. First two days were basically in the weeds in Palmer Bay. 2 flags was it. Ice was 5-6" then. Wed the 27th we moved out into deeper water and started picking up fish. Ended up with 6 walleyes, 5 legals and 12-13" of ice by Sat night. Friday was an off day, we fished Gogebic.
My buddy owns a cabin over by Bent's and rode 3x across the Chain. Said slush was the worst on Maimie, but it's been freezing over fairly well.
While I tend to use both opening for access to West bay, I prefer the north opening for the reasons mentioned below. There's a fair amount of current that tends to thin up the ice.

Tough couple of days on West Bay. Haven’t found fish and the Arctic air mass makes it hard to even want to venture out. Plenty of snowmobiles up here this weekend and a lot of them running on the chain. Just a word of caution if moving between Big lake and West Bay, I would use the sand cut at the NW end of West Bay as the larger channel on the south end does have current running through. Not a huge problem when temps have struggled to get above 0 for a week or more, but sunlight and warmer temps could change that ice situation specifically right there. Hoping this arctic air moves back to Canada soon...
Planning to head up next weekend and wondering how the fishing has been. This is much later in the season then we usually come up unless were icefishing. We will be targeting walleyes and Muskies. Any input will be much appreciated.
Look for water temps in the upper 30's, maybe 40. Suckers worked for us this past weekend over on Palmer. We stopped in by Bent's to get suckers on Friday morning, place was closed tight at 11am. So plan on hitting either Boulder or Land O for meat. Mediums at Northern Highlands Sports in BJ were 7.50, which isn't too bad really.
