To the very nice gentleman who drives an orange Dodge pick up, thank you for the kind words you left on a note under my windshield. It wasn't me who left you the original note on your truck. I did see that when I got there though. But, you signed it "d-bag", and by the way you parked in the lot I am wondering if that may be your actual name? I would confront you in person and tell you that you did indeed, park like an idiot.

Report: went with a buddy and my gf for a couple hours. Got a few keeper eyes that were released and a couple shorts and one crappie. Also snagged a mid 30s ski that released himself. #6 ripnrap and moxi tail Authentix plastics with baitmate.

Well tried for crappies. Instead caught a bunch of short walleyes and this slightly over 28 inch eye that is still swimming in the river

Fished last night for about an hour hammered the fish on hot tiger jointed rapala. Reel in slow and they will hit it hard. Water being 40 degrees will make times now at its best.

Fished with my brother and dad today. The morning started slow up by the dam with just a few fish and one keeper. Also got three ski's. Went in for lunch and came back and fished until about 8:30. Fish really turned on in the afternoon. My brother and I did the most damage. I landed 32 fish, brother got 24, and my dad got 8. Only one more legit keeper size in the bunch. Lots of fish that just touched the 15 inch mark. Also got one 21 inch slot male. Water was 34 to start the day and 37 when we left. Green was best early and orange/chartreuse was best late. Caught a few on plastics and also a bunch on dead sticks. Dad picked up a few later in with a slip bobber in an eddy late on.

Great day on the water with the old man and brother. Doesn't happen much with the three of us in the boat together. This week should get hot. Warm temps and rain possible! Tight lines until next time!

Weird bite this afternoon. Got out about 2:30. Started hammering eyes on ring worms and jig and crawlers instantly. First 4 casts yielded 4 eyes. One keeper and one slot at 22 inches. Two guys in the boat and we landed about 20 eyes and about the same amount of smallies. All fish released. 6 to 10 fow with lots of structure present. Water was normal summer level but seemed a little fast and dirty.

Been fishing the river a little. The high water is making fishing tough. Was out yesterday for a while. Tried jigging some slack water areas with a few smallies and short eyes. Did some trolling after and picked up a couple keeper sized eyes and a bunch of smallies pulling #5 flicker shads. Green was the color. Nothing pulling down river. All fish came in 6-7 fow pulling at .6 mph.

After fishing the morning in Nekoosa a couple days ago my buddy and I headed up to Rapids. We caught a bunch of small eyes and a couple decent smallies. Fish were hard to pin point with the fast current. Tried a few different eddies and fished current seams and picked up a few fish at each spot. Nothing to write home about. The current has since subsided and hopefully the fishing gets better as the cooler weather sets in. I'll be gone for a week in D.C. for vacation so I won't make it out till next week.
