Ran up and down the Wisconsin, below Stevens Point dam, this morning with crawlers and Sonny's. 1 cat and 1 smallie.

Hit Greenbay about 2am Friday night with a coworker.. The night bite really has died for the last few weeks ... The fish start biting at 1st lite but it was a slow bite My buddy got a 10# flathead on live 6 in sucker... am glad I have a Pump on the boat started taking on water WTF ..., looked around the live well outlet hose was broken easy fix... .. After we threw Sonnys ,uncle Sonnys ,wickey sticky, Berley dip,cut bait live and dead suckers and worms I decide to use a fiber cattail home made bait ....WTF big ass cat bent rod circle hook game on .... Caught a few more 10# and up ... Still a pretty slow bite ....
Wisconsin Fishing, since you are pictures with a channel cat I am sure the fishing dies down when it gets dark . The reason channel cat fishing dies off real quick , especially with stink bait , you are catching small channel cats. Small channel cats learn to hide real quick when it gets dark cause the flatheads start getting restless . Small cats pack it in for the night or they are dinner real fast. I never caught a channel cat less than 8 pounds at night when fishing in water that had flatheads in it.

Ya ever have one of those fishing mornings where ya should've stayed in bed instead of hunting channel cats??? That was my Saturday AM south of Nekoosa, WI on the WI River. Was gonna go bluegill fishing north of Stevens Point, WI... but thought, "Hey, I'm The Mad Catter"... sooo... hit my "Bread and Butter" spots in Central WI!!! ;-))
Within the first 10 minutes of cattin' (7am), I slashed my thumb open on a hook... ugh! After the bleeding subsided, went to work (play?) using Sonny's dip, crawlers, and sucker minnows (live and cutbait). After 30 minutes with no bites, hit Sandy Bank upriver... managed 3 cats (14"-20"), but it was a sketchy bite at best... Decided to hit some backwaters...
On the way to the backwaters, I decided to give my cell phone a good "minnow bucket bath!" ;-/ Yep... cell phone jumped into my minnow bucket and got drenched... so now I'm without a phone for awhile (aka no thrilling "cat pics" on Lake Link from Your's Truly!)... I know... hearts are breaking everywhere! ;-p Sheesh... I go through cell phones due to "misadventures" like catfishing persons tear through STINK BAIT! ;-(
If any one wishes to communicate with this sad example of person who obviously cares little for his technologies, feel free to PM me on Lake Link. Hope I'm able to be with phone soon... but not holding my breath on that one! :-( Regardless...
Enjoy the Autumn cattin' season, All! Feels like fall is here!!! :-0

Wisconsin Fishing. The bite is not always better at night. Cats eat, when cats get hungry. If the bite died off when it got dark, it's because they moved on. Move up to shallower water near where you were getting bit. And do not be afraid to fish in a foot of water. When cats are hungry, they do not care about water depth.
