I went out with the kids, boy5,girl9 and did well. We had 1 perch, 2 bluegill and 4 catfish. Plus a few sheaphead. Weather was good and the kids were happy. Thanks for the tips. Fish fry soon. Good luck to all.

If you want any more tips, spots, etc. just ask. I fish with kids every time I go out and can help you out in that department. My 9 and 6 year olds have put a lot of nice fish in the net and on the ice the last few years.

For guys looking to fish with bobbers, here you go: use slip bobbers, run your bait between 3”-18” off the bottom (depending on what you find works that day ) fish by the cane beds close to the canes for a mixed bag. (Gills, perch, eyes, sheep head, catfish, occasionally a smallie) Tip with leeches or crawlers. Or, find any rocks on bottom and fish near bottom with the same setup.  Both bites are not the best midday unless the water temp is lower or if it’s cloudy, or choppy water. Early morning and late day is best. There you go, I hope your kids enjoy it. Good luck

I'm hoping to hear something on just bobber fishing here also. I don't care to troll and just want the kids to catch some pan fish. Any info would be great. Thanks

Is this a good lake for bobber and worm fishing?  Or is trolling the only productive method?

Troll the main Basin this morning. Chrome and blue and Fire Tiger  to be the best colors. Took an hour and a half to get the 10th walleye. More wind would have helped. Two crappies. one at 14 in. Just had to grind them out.

Went out on Butte Des Morts about two weeks ago and trolling flicker shads/rapalas at around 2 mph seemed to be the trick. Natural colors were also better.
