Does anyone have any info on this lake for ice fishing?

I was doing a search on these lakes to see if anyone has ever talked about them. I saw your post and that you are currently online, so although your post is old, perhaps you will see this....

I have fished Burlingame Lake and the entire Loon Chain for almost my entire life...I'm not old, only 27, but I have never seen a buffalo in those lakes. I know the state record came out of Burlingame, but in all the time I've spent fishing there, I have never seen one alive. I saw one dead on the bank of Falk Lake (same chain) probably 20 years ago now. I never saw another one since. I'm not saying that they aren't there, but you'd be wasting your time if you actually travelled to find some of them there.

I'd say your best bet for even SEEING a buffalo would be downstream of Burlingame in the channels headed down to Loon Lake and eventually Gull Lake. The water is more shallow in there with lots of vegetation, so they might move into there to spawn if they are there at all.

Was wondering if anyone can tell me about the population of buffalo in the lake either for hook and line or bow. Looking for some fish to smoke and have never had buffalo.
