MOON PHASE (12%)
Waxing Crescent

Muff stuffin, basically all of us on here that bowfish know this. This carp disposal issue has been getting passed around heavily for the passed 2 years or so. These isolated instances are people who clearly do not care about the law or have not got caught and will sooner or later. DNR has been cracking down and word of mouth has traveled far and wide on people looking for this problem to turn them in. General rule is if you don't have anywhere to put your rough fish, don't go at all. Hopefully things shape up over the next couple of years as we continue to access every social media and media outlets to show our concern for this topic. Thanks everyone and shoot straight

Just wanted to put something on here that should get shared with all bow fisherman in Wisconsin, dispose of your fish properly. Not only does it stink but you're making the rest of us look bad.  And if you know who filled the bathrooms with carp at Dodge County park on Big Green lake, turn them in, you'll probably get a reward, since it was a giant mess to clean up.

Was out Friday on Ashippun lake in Waukesha County. We were fishing for gills caught only a couple. But the carp were thick on the SE end of the lake all day. We were seeing huge groups of them and they were very large fish. Just thought someone might be interested. Near the large float we counted over 30 in one group.

A little late on this report, but last Thursday I took a group of 4 guys out and we hammered the carp. 54 in 4 hours. Biggest fish was 32.6#, with lots of fish over 20#. One of the guys was a professional wrestler on the WWE circuit - Braun Strowman from the Wyatt Family. It was cool to have him on board.

I took out some repeat clients Monday night for big fish and some good action. Although the fish were a little spotty, when we found them there was usually 2-5 fish in a group and the shooting was fast and furious. Plenty of shots hit the water, but the challenge of deeper water found many of them missing the mark. We landed 9 fish in the 4 1/2 hours we were on the water with the largest at 26# 15oz. We also landed an egg-bound female that weighed a little over 25#. I've heard that if a female has a problem spawning that the eggs will turn to water and bloat the fish up. The fish looked like a swimming basketball in the water and could hardly get out of it's own way. Everyone was successful and had a good time. I expect the patterns to stabilize and fishing to be consistent unless we get some crazy weather soon.
