Hi, coming up north for memorial weekend. Any body fish boot lately? or any lakes around Lakewood? Never fished boot, and would like to try it. What should I expect if i decided to try fishing boot for the first time? thanks in advance, any information would be very appreciated

Fished yesterday and today out here with a couple buddies. Overall, this weekend we fished Chute, Maiden, and Boot. Boot had the most action just size wasn't very good. Yesterday we found for fish in 14' of water with some of nicest winter weeds I have seen. (Don't see weeds like that where we are from) Found gills, a couple crappie, many snake notherns, a few bass and of course the annoying little perch. Fish were on the move both days so had to hole hop or just sit and wait for the small schools to come through. Pike were hitting just about anything small ice jigs, tip ups, tip downs you name it believe they were just chasing the gills around. Friday we started on Chute Pond and really couldn't find fish other than sub par perch which some bloated with spawn already. Couple could have Ben cleaned but those were the females so back they went. Decided to bail and go to Maiden. UsmcZaruba caught a small tiger/hybrid musky and a 24" pike both on tip ups. I managed to land on a 20' hole with again smallish perch and other buddy caught 1 keeper gill in 37' of water. Had 8 tip ups soak till about 7 pm for eyes but no flags. Came back on Saturday morning but struggled to find fish. Overall I would call this weekend an exploratory weekend, just dont know enough about these lakes up here (yet). Never measured any depths but let's just say your power heads get wet. Snow cover varied on all 3 lakes. Chute basically packed down everywhere. Maiden not too bad. Boot had large snow drifts all over managed to get bogged down 3 times. If anyone has any tips would love to gain some knowledge from some experienced anglers of the area. We probably drilled 300 holes this weekend and covered many spots on all the lakes we fished so it wasn't for a lack of trying. Beautiful area up here and great scenery.

Went out yesterday from 8-3. Was a lot of people out on the ice but not much productivity. Caught 5 fish. 2 pike and 3 bass. Nothing of real size. Didn't see many other people running for flags. Snow is getting deep and it's putting a lot of weight on the ice. Popped a hole and you can see the water rushing up. If you have a 4x4 truck you'll be able to get through everything but someone got there car stuck so just be careful.

Went out last week on Friday and Saturday. Some trucks on the lake but mostly smaller vehicles. Went out about 2 o'clock from the landing. Was there from 9-4 both days. A few dozen hammer handles, 1 small crappie and a few smaller bass. Nothing really impressive. except for around 12-12:30. On saturday pullled a 21" walleye and on Sunday a 28" northern. Those were the only real keepers. Everything else too small. Will be going out tomorrow and will post a report.

Has anyone been out recently or know how the ice is on the lake? Thinking about making the hour and a half drive up because the ice where I live is not in good condition. Any information would be great!

Went out last week. Caught a 10in sunfish, 4 largemouth bass all around 13 inches and 5 northern pike ranging from 8 inches to 26 inches. Everything was caught on a white spinner. Went thru 4 white spinners and stopped fishing around 6 due to the fact a MASSIVE pike broke my rod. I would have to say pike was definitely close or over 40 inches. Biggest fish I've seen in a long time from those lakes near there.
