I was out for a few hours yesterday evening. Caught a couple of decent perch and a few little ones, but that was it. There was a youth fishing tournament during the day, so I suppose had an effect on the bite. It was a beautiful night, though!

I'm not much of a sucker rig fisherman but man I might have to if I want some of these fish to commit. Maybe it's time for the big slow baits like suicks and rubber. I keep reading that guys all over northern mn are still having some luck with bucktails which I can hardly believe with how cold it is.
Anyone having any luck chasing musky's on this lake? Thinking of driving over from Mn to try my luck in the fall out there. Saw a ton of fish the last time I was out there but couldn't get any to commit. Thinking of spending a day out there this fall to try and change that.

Fished on Sunday the 19th and had 10 follows but no takers. Water is extremely clear after being treated this year so no more pea soup color. Not sure if that helped or hurt us. Every fish that came in was following hard but turned boatside without following the bait in a figure 8 so it was extremely frustrating. Down-sized baits and threw everything at em but couldn't get one to commit.
Was fishing in the tourney, some guys did catch fish but not our boat.

I was out last Saturday, fished in about 20' of water. Perch were constant. Didn't keep any, and I only noticed one that looked like it had parasites. Had a couple of flags, but didn't catch anything, Alton the shiners were a bit mauled!
