MOON PHASE (96%)

Ran a few tip ups the other day during the cold snap....only one flag. Did manage to catch a few nice gills hole hoping on the backside of the island.
Good place to bring a starter. We did good the other day with a few nice gills. Gotta move till you find them. Took 3 of us 2 hours of drilling holes and fishing and then we hit it good and stayed till dark and each brought home around 20 fish for a fish fry. Gonna cook sum up tonight matter of fact.
How is the bite been the past few days? Have a buddy who wants to go fishing but hasn’t ice fished for about a decade and I am trying to get him out where he has a good chance to catch a few fish.
Not asking for specific location on lake but just how is the bite in general. Thanks and tight lines.

The previous post is correct, Ice conditions are generally good, but it varies by about an inch in places. There is a good 3-4 inches everywhere we drilled today!
On to the report- typical Black Otter. Weed through lots of small ‘gills to find the nicer ones. Had a few flags and ended up with one decent 20” pike for the pickling bucket. Guys to the channel side of the island did decent on pike from what we saw. We were on the boat landing side and hole hopped all day and did ok on the ‘gills And sunfish. Unlike last weekend, flags were slow today!
be careful, be smart, and you will be ok out here- do not try to drive your vehicle out, yet!!!!!
Merry Christmas everyone!
