Hello my gf and i are coming out Saturday for the first time ever. Just wanted to catch a couple pannies, or jig and actually catch a couple fish of keeper size for a single meal for 2people. What read about the lake gives me hope that we will actually catch a couple fish. I live in Tomahawk on Lake Mohawksin, and it used to be pretty good. But lots of people set a bunch of shacks and i believe really have been over harvesting fish. The population has dwindled accordingly and sadly ever since. Please practice smart angling, release big female panfish in spawning season. Take what you intend on eating. Try not to freeze large amounts of fish. Thanks for reading and if you have any tips I'd highly appreciate it.
I would suspect that you could say that atv's could be driven all over... But I would say that you should check the ice a bit to see what kinds of thicknesses you have and then make that decision...
I have no idea if there are springs you should avoid or otherwise... Again I would suspect that bringing the wheeler will get you on ice, but how ans where you drive it will keep you above the ice.
Good Luck and Stay Safe!!!
Last weekend the snow was too deep for me in Chevy Avalanche 4x4 to trust getting off a previous used two track. With the coolldd temps and wind, we decided to go to N. Twin to set up on leeward side of truck, instead of getting stuck attempting to get to "our spot" on BSL. Had several snowmobiles blow through our tipups (smashed 1) with hundreds of yards of clear ice all around us. WTF - Dick heads!!!!
Not sure if snow settled this week on BSL, hopefully you can get out.
