Wind direction and speed should help you determine which launch to use. City launches will be the most protected along with the one on Meyers Cove at the west end. Forecast is for big winds on Saturday out of the NW and that would make launching at the County Park very difficult.

Fished fri sat and sun while we were up for smallmouth we caught walleye and a pike or two with the smallmouth. Friday afternoon was on fire in 10 to 14ft on the big tube these smallmouth are impressive our big was 5.11lb with 4s 3s and plenty 2lbs. On Saturday our bite changed to c-rig and swimbait with the walleye sharing bite time but the size was all 2lbs to 3lbs and we found the same pattern sun the size came back to 4lbs and the numbers were better. Great weekend on the best lake in the state.

Made a last chance trip down to jig some trout without much luck. Made the change over to try some pike and brown bass on weed edges and got a couple absolute tanks. Scale was dead unfortunately but biggest were 20 and 21" and some average pike. Nice weather and no jetskis, can't beat that.

Fished the weekend with our annual fishing trip crew. Friday winds were BRUTAL and kept us off lake until 5pm. Managed a walleye & a couple northern (biggest 28”) in boat before heading in. Saturday was great! Caught 3 keeper smallies on our boat (16”/18”19”) and another couple northern. Sunday was slower, but still managed some good fish including a nice 19” walleye. All fish were CPR so they’re back in the lake for the next catch!
Mostly fished Malcolm Bay and south shore across from Heidel House. Tried staying in 15-20 FOW. We trolled & casted. Used live and lures. Everything worked.
Love fishing this lake and can’t wait to be back next year!
