Hoping that this lake does not have a fish kill like last year.

Btuck I have fished Ballard maybe 5-6 times over the years. Really like all it has to offer. But I have to admit I have problems finding the channel back to the launch lol

Thanks for the post Big Smile

Ballard is a great fishing lake! My family has owned property on it since 1928, and we have been fishing it as much as possible. Great for musky, pike, walleye, and pan fishing. The bass tend to be on the smaller side, but you will catch both small/large mouth. The pan fish are clean eating and taste great, Especially the perch. As for musky, majority tend to be between 30-40 inches. Although, I have seen quite a few 40+ come out of the lake as well. Pike tend to be a bit small in the 25-35 in range, with the occasional 40 inch. If you're fishing during the day hit the deeper spots. For dusk fishing the rock pile is great for walleye and musky. At dawn just about any spot on the lake can be active.

How's the ice up there guys?? Is it worth trying for some walleye on this lake? Any info is greatly appreciated. Any lakes near Woodruff with a decent walleye population? Heading up to Woodruff tonight for the week. I can trade info for Shawano Lake if interested. Plenty of spots and advice for here.

Thanks guys! Tight lines and Tip Ups!!!

Hillard, I skipped this lake, landing and road were full by 830am friday July 4th. July 5th I was working on my brakes in the parking lot of O'Reileys Auto, no fishing. Other area lakes I caught the mayflies and had good walleye bite.
