Is there any place to access the east end of this lake? The closest launch I can see is in the middle of the lake on the south side. Any other spots to park and walk on?

Same here. The only luck ive had is at dusk and just after dark. Thats usually when we fish the most is late afternoon into the late evening, then we call it quits.

My tip for fishing the stained water lakes in the area (Altoona, Eau Claire, and Wissota) is wrap it up after it gets dark. By far the best walleye/northern bites are at dusk and dawn. Pretty much shut down in the dark.

Been out twice, haven't fished too hard. More beer drinking than anything! Just tip ups for walleye. Was hoping to get into some during the full moon, but no luck. From the holes ive drilled (toward the middle from the Altoona Landing) Ice anywhere from 12 inches to 16 inches. Good Luck!!

Hey guys. I'll be up in Eau Claire for work next week and am hopping to ice fishing after dark. Anyone willing to share some tips? Depth or type of structure to look for on a map would be great. I'll be staying at a hotel so it will all be catch and release. Thanks

Phil
