Onion and Garlic Chops

Ingredients:

  • 4 venison chops (or pork, etc…)
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 or 3 mushrooms
  • 1 small onion
  • 6 to 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Your favorite seasonings

Directions:

Cut onion in half, then slice (do not dice or mince). Cut garlic into thin slices (do not dice or mince). Cut mushrooms into thick slices. Mix water and onion soup mix in a small cup. Heat a mid-size frying pan on HIGH for 3 to 5 minutes, THEN add oil. (pan to be big enough to hold the chops without overlaps). Season chops with your favorite seasons, then sear on high heat for approximately 1 minute per side. Add water/soup mix and disperse throughout pan equally. Sprinkle the chopped onions, garlic, chalets and mushrooms over the chops. COVER and reduce heat to simmer and let cook for about 10 to 15 minutes (varies based on thickness of meat). Turn chops once during cook time. Don't let the sauce burn!, you may need to add more water. (less water = thicker sauce, more water = runny sauce). Serve with mashed potatoes or rice with the sauce used as gravy.
