Learn From The Best of the Best at the Chicagoland Fishing, Travel & Outdoor Expo, January 24-27, 2013

SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Chicagoland Fishing, Travel & Outdoor Expo has reeled in the experts from January 24-27, 2013 at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, IL. This is an incredible opportunity for anglers to learn from the "best of the best" as some of the world's top fishing talent share their expertise.

Leading the pack is Kevin VanDam; as the all-time money-maker on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail, VanDam has earned more than $5 million through February 2011, and captured four Bassmaster Classic titles, along with seven Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year titles. The Bassmaster Classic title is the most coveted in bass fishing, attracting the best anglers in the world. VanDam has earned berths in 21 consecutive Classics since turning pro in 1992--the longest running Classic qualification streak of any active pro. Van Dam will be offering seminars on Thursday, January 24.

Joining VanDam is Mike "Ike" Iaconelli, himself a winner of the Bassmaster Classic and Bassmaster Angler of the Year Award. Iaconelli is a lifelong fisherman who spends approximately 200 days a year on the water, enhancing his knowledge of numerous lakes, rivers and reservoirs around the country. Noted as one of the industries favorite fishing personalities, he also works as a part-time guide, writes fishing articles, and designs lures. An experienced speaker, Ike is in demand as a seminar presenter at sportshows around the country. He will be speaking on Saturday at 1:15.

Next up is Gary Parsons of Glidden, WI who is a "Legendary Angler" inductee into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, and one of the co-hosts of the popular "The Next Bite" television show, airing on NBC Sports Network. A professional walleye fisherman, Parsons is the only person to have won "Angler of the Year" titles in three open Professional Walleye Circuits. He will be presenting seminars on Friday, January 25th, and Saturday, January 26th.

Mark Zona is the host of "ZONA'S Awesome Fishing Show" on the Outdoor Channel and Co-Host of the Bassmaster Elite Series Show on ESPN2. He is a self-proclaimed "knucklehead" host, who claims a fondness for the music of Men at Work and Mötley Cruë. If it swims, chances are Mark Zona knows how to catch it. Zona - or simply 'Z' as he is known throughout the fishing world - has been fooling fish with a rod and reel since he was old enough to walk. Mark will be conducting a seminar Friday, January 25th at 2:30.

Also presenting on Friday and Saturday is James Lindner, an accomplished multi-species fisherman, who is especially recognized for his prowess in musky fishing. Lindner grew up in the world of sport fishing, and is also an acclaimed outdoor film director and producer. He has filmed and fished from the Arctic Circle tundra to South American jungles, from the Atlantic to Pacific coasts, and every state in between. He claims to "live, eat and sleep" fishing, and his enthusiasm is sure to infect his audience.

Guests will also enjoy Joe Bucher, a National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Legendary Angler and one of the most highly regarded multi-species fishing authorities in the fishing world. An on-camera talent for 24 years, Bucher hosts the popular television series "Fishing with Joe Bucher" and will present seminars on Friday, January 25th and Saturday, January 26th.

Popular local fisherman Dave Kranz will be speaking on Thursday, Friday & Sunday. Kranz has been the owner of Dave's Bait, Tackle and Taxidermy in Crystal Lake since 1989, and has taught generations of sportsmen and women how to hunt and fish. He competes in bass tournaments throughout the Fox Chain of Lakes System and the Madison Chain of Lakes, as well as many other bodies of water in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Kranz will present seminars on multi-species lake fishing.

Additional speakers include seasoned pro Shaw Grigsby, the young gun Brandon Palaniuk and many more. With over 50 seminars on the schedule, plus numerous on-the-show-floor demonstrations, the entire Expo becomes a fishing university. Included in the all technique, multi-species learning centers throughout the show floor are the Kayak Anglers Edge and the Fly Fishing Pavilion. Don't miss Illinois's greatest sportfishing show! The outdoor extravaganza features a wide range of exhibitors, including major tackle manufacturers, boat manufacturers, local fishing tackle retailers, lodges, guides and camps from throughout North America, travel destinations, local fishing clubs, taxidermists, and much more. In addition to seminars by top sportsmen and women, visitors will enjoy a boatload of activities and entertainment.

"This is my 36th year in sport show management, and I've never been more excited about a new show," says Paul Fuller, show manager. "If it has to do with fishing, you'll find it here at the Chicagoland Show."
