Okuma Releases Deadeye Custom Series Rods For 2019

NEW Okuma Deadeye Custom Series rods utilize the latest in technology to create functionality, durability and strength

ONTARIO, Calif: The Okuma Deadeye Custom Series rods are one of three new models of walleye specific rods to hit the market this year. The Deadeye Custom Series rods are all custom technique specific walleye jigging rods designed for the tournament walleye angler.

The Deadeye Custom Series rods were designed with the latest technology and insight from leading walleye tournament anglers from around the Midwest. The backbone of the Deadeye Custom family is the SCT technology improving strength and durability. SCT is a dual helix wrap featuring over 6000 strands of carbon thread wrapped around the 30/40 ton graphite blank.

"The walleye tournament circuit is bigger than ever throughout the Midwest," stated John Bretza, Product Development Manager. "For that reason, we worked with the top tournament anglers to create the ultimate in walleye jigging rods for increased sensitivity and feel of the lightest of bites."

The Deadeye Custom Series applies its SCT technology to 6 key models. 6-foot Medium and Medium Heavy with Extra Fast taper, 6-foot 8-inch Medium Light and Medium with Extra Fast taper as well as 7-foot 4-inch in Medium Light and Medium actions with Extra Fast taper.

The component system of the Deadeye Custom series start with Sea Guide XO-316 stainless steel angled guide frames to reduce line twist as well as a specialized stainless steel guide tip to prevent inserts from popping out. The rods feature a custom EVA and Cork split grip configuration for balance and weight reduction for all day jigging. They also have an ALPS RPD reel seat with aluminum thread nut to keep your spinning reels secure.

The Deadeye Custom Series Jigging Rods are available at a retail price of $129.99 and backed by a limited lifetime warranty. For more information, please visit www.okumafishingusa.com.
