Legendary Bass Performance

Featuring improved reel seats, refined guide trains and split-grip cork handles, Legend Tournament Bass expands to thirty-four models, including eight 8'-10' sticks, leading the way in long-rod design and performance.

Park Falls, WI - Bass fishing can be highly technical, due to the number of techniques and presentations it takes to consistently put fish in the boat. Along those lines, St. Croix's Legend Tournament® Bass series provides the tools to do just that, offering specifically designed rods for all the techniques that get the job done.

The artisan rod crafters at St. Croix diligently spent hours designing and testing rods for dedicated bass anglers, rods that address bass-specific presentation needs using St. Croix's entire library of proprietary technologies, each designed and manufactured in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Welcome the Legend Tournament Bass series from St. Croix Rod.

The Legend Tournament Bass series comprises twenty-five different bass casting rods and nine bass spinning rods, each designed and handcrafted to help bass hunters have the best fishing experience possible and put more fish in the boat.

The latest addition to the line is a 7'5" medium-heavy power, extra-fast action St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass Swim Frog casting rod (LBC75MHXF). Specifically designed for topwater buzz frogs, this rod is no one-trick pony. It's equally adept at managing swim jigs in the same waters where swim frogs excel. Traditional topwater frogs, big swimbaits and speed worms also pair perfectly with the LBC75MHXF, delivering dynamic results throughout the entire water column. From swim frogs thrown around docks and cypress tree knees to working a keel-weighted swimbait in sparse cover, the Legend Tournament Bass LBC75MHXF is a must-have.

BASS Elite and St. Croix pro angler, Derek Hudnall, relies on the Legend Tournament Bass series day-in day-out at competitive bass fishing's highest level. "This rod series is really one that any serious bass angler can stick with, because the Legend Tournament Bass series is so broad. It even includes a 9'11" casting rod, which a lot of anglers really like for flippin' and punchin'. One of the ways St. Croix engineers have optimized the performance of these longer rods is through careful consideration of guide sizing and spacing in both the casting and spinning lineups. They have the premium Fuji K-Series guides on them, and are also built with high-end blank-touch reel seats, which hold firm on a wide variety of reels," he says.

"Longer rods can take more of a beating and these rods were definitely built to withstand real-world use. If any bass angler ever comes to me and asks, ‘I want to get into St. Croix rods; which rod series would you recommend?' I always send them to Legend Tournament Bass because they manufacture them for so many different techniques," Hudnall shares. "From a 5'10" spinning Skippin' rod all the way up to the 9'11" Flippin'/Punchin' casting rod, the series includes all the powers, actions and lengths for any way you want to fish.

"I have a number of favorite rods in the series but one that comes to mind is the 7'1" Plastics casting rod (LBC71MF) with medium power and a fast tip, which I prefer for target crankin' square bills because it allows me to make super accurate casts," Hudnall says. And thanks to the refined Fuji K-Series guide train, he never has to worry about the line tangling up, especially when making precision casts around cover.

"I also do a lot of flipping, and like the 7'6" medium-heavy moderate-fast casting rod (LBC76MHMF) for fishing heavy wood, brush piles, big laydowns and cover like that. I also flip a lot with it in heavy grass with 50- to 60-pound braid and that rod handles the line just beautifully. I like a heavy cover flippin' rod that's got a little bit of give to it—a rod that loads up," he adds. "This particular rod loads really well. It's one of my go-to rods for sure."
