The bite was pretty tough the other day at Lake Hope. I couldn't put a pattern together because the bass weren't telling me much. The water was very clear. And the Bluegill had just finished their spawn.

- I caught a small one on a drop-shot. And that was it.

- Then I caught another small one on a homemade jig tipped with a Venom Dream Craw. And that was it.

- Then I tied a Spro Popper Frog on and drug it across the lily pads and caught a limit of under 2-pounders.

It was a tough outing. And the bass were just not committing.

Good luck everybody.
