Heading out to Devils area early March with a group of people. Have heard lots of talk of large amount of snow restricting lake access for many. Curious as to what the typical conditions are around early march? Need to bring snowmobile?

Our group of 8 returned on Sunday after fishing TH-SAT with Bry's Guide Service. The fishing was tough on Thur with only 28 perch caught. Fri was better with 90 caught, and Sat was the best with 96 perch and 5 walleye. Overall a good trip. Pretty cold with heavy winds on Thur and afternoon on Sat. Sno-Bears made it fishable when it was too cold to hole hop. Decent average size but not as good as last year. The fish were finicky most days with one guy putting on a clinic on Sat and catching 15 in a row while others within 10 feet got nada or a few. He is also the best fisherman in the group and has likely caught more fish than the rest of us combined. The fish were caught on spikes, wax worms and minnow heads at various times. Had to switch up based on their mood (just like my wife!).
I cannot believe a community that says they so depend and care about their tourism is so lacking in their reports on ice fishing, roads, accommodations and weather alerts. Woodland resort's live cam is either down or stuck in one time spot. Their last lake post was December 26th.when they were trying to get shacks out and said they would post again soon but -nothing. I am schedule to go out next week but with no information after the storm last weekend I am going to go where I know I can at least get out and fish without taking a caterpillar out.
