NORTHERN PIKE ABUNDANCE (20.50/GILLNET) HAS RISEN TO 4X THE LOCAL MEDIAN. MOST FISH ARE FROM THE LARGE 1982 YEAR CLASS. AGES 1-4 WERE SAMPLED. GROWTH WAS FAST FOR THE 1984 YEARCLASS BUT AVERAGE FOR OLDER FISH. BLUEGILL NUMBERS 13.5/TRAPNET) ARE ONLY SLIGHTLY BELOW THE LOCAL MEDIAN. ONLY AGE 3-5 FISH WERE SAMPLED (COMPARED TO AGE 1-7 IN 1979) AND ALL SHOWED SLOW GROWTH. AGE 3 FISH WERE MOST ABUNDANT IN THE SAMPLE. ABUNDANCE OF YELLOW (4.5/ TRAP) AND BROWN 2.5/TRAP) BULLHEADS, AND HYBRID SUNFISH (4.5/TRAP) ARE BASICALLY UNCHANGED SINCE 1979. PUMPKINSEED NUMBERS HAVE RISEN TO 14.5/TRAP. GREEN SUNFISH (1.5/TRAP) WERE FIRST SAMPLED IN 1985. LARGEMOUTH BASS, BLACK CRAPPIES, AND BOWFIN WERE SAMPLED IN 1979 BUT NOT IN 1985.
