Good local lake that is not overcrowded. My kids have fun catching the sunfish (some decent size). When I can get out and cast for bass there is a decent abundance. Pulled a few 20 inchers, but most being in the 14in range.

Nice comprehensive review from Smokin' Joe. As a resident on the lake there is nothing I enjoy more than seeing boats drift by my dock and shoreline casting for Bass, trolling for Northern Pike or anchoring for some slip-bobber Panfish. Most of the Panfish are smaller in size but can be very entertaining for young anglers. My ten year old nephew spends many hours catching lots of "canardlies" (can hardly see 'em) right off the dock. This is a smaller body of water that can be fished in a morning or evening, is close in town and very accessable. Just this past Sunday morning I watched a dad haul in a nice 4-5 pound Largemouth Bass from under my dock. The lads in the boat had fun watching. If you decide to come out to Tanners Lake please remember there is a 10 MPH speed restriction. Most homeowners do not mind if you want to open it up and go faster when you are on the more open south end of the lake but we appreciate you staying at or below the 10 MPH limit when moving through the more narrow North end lined with homes on both sides. The lake is currently 49 feet deep. Over 1 Million Walleye Fry were stocked in 2010 by the DNR. I have caught a few so know they are here! Good luck out on the water!
