BUT GROWTH RATES ARE ERRATIC, ESPECIALLY IN OLDER FISH, PROBABLY DUE TO WINTER- KILL TENDENCIES. BLACK CRAPPIES ARE PRESENT IN AVG NUMBERS COMPARED WITH STATE AND LOCAL MEDIANS AT 3.00/TRAPNET. AGES I-IV WERE SAMPLED AND GROWTH IS GOOD. YELLOW PERCH ABUNDANCE IS ABOUT ONE-HALF THE LOCAL MEDIAN AT 4.67/GILLNET. YELLOW BULLHEAD (6/TRAPNET). AND BROWN BULLHEAD (3.5/TRAPNET) NUMBERS ARE NEAR THEIR RESPECTIVE MEDIANS WHILE BLACK BULLHEAD NUMBERS (0.25/TRAPNET) ARE LOW. THIS IS UNUSUAL FOR AN OCCASIONAL WINTERKILL LAKE. IT SEEMS TO INDICATE THAT MOST KILLS ARE ONLY PAR- TIAL AND PROBABLY ONLY AFFECT SUNFISHES AND OTHER SENSITIVE SPECIES.
