BLB ABUNDANCE INCREASED DRAMATICALLY FROM 37.3 PER TRAP NET LIFT IN 1986 TO 113.3, NEARLY SIX TIMES GREATER THAN THE UPPER LIMIT OF THE NORMAL RANGE. BLG ABUNDANCE INCREASED SLIGHTLY FROM 7.3 PER TRAP NET LIFT IN 1986 TO 8.6, REMAINING WITHIN THE NORMAL RANGE. BLG RECRUITMENT APPEARS CONSISTENT AND A STRONG 1987 YEAR CLASS (AGE IV) COMPRISED 50% OF THE SAMPLE.
