Below are special fishing regulations for Mille Lacs as regulated by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. For complete fishing regulations for Minnesota click here.
  • Closed to winter spearing for all species.
  • Fish reduced to possession may not be culled or live-well sorted.
  • Muskellunge: Minimum sie limit 48"
  • Night Closure: No one may fish for any species or possess fishing gear on the lake from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m. starting at 10 p.m. on May 14 and ending at 12:01 a.m. on June 11.
  • Northern Pike: All 27-40" must be immediately released. Only one over 40" allowed in possession.
  • Smallmouth Bass: All less than 21" must be immediately released. Possession limit one.
  • Tullibee (Northern Cisco): Possession limit is 10.
  • Walleye: Restrictions or changes will be posted at public access sites and on DNR web site.
  • Winter spearing for northern pike is prohibited.
