If we could get a few more months like today, not to hot or to cold, gentle breeze, over cast, and the fish were biting. A Pike hit my orange Styrofoam float and bit threw my 20lb braided, another first for me! I have had them bite threw my braided, but I never had a fish hit my orange foam float before.
Fishing has been good for me so far this Sept. The Jitterbug 2.0 is a blast for a top water bait. It creates a lot of splash and has a great movement if you are just reeling it in. I'm not sure about the hook layout, it seems there is enough hooks, but i had a number of hits that didn't get hooked at all? Over all I will use it a lot in 5' of water or less.

Fished the east side of Minnetonka for crappies. Water was 52 degrees on main lake. Found crappies in there usual spots for this time of year, but it was a bit slow on the bite. My new pup did great in the boat so it was a enjoyable evening.

I never Have much luck threw the ice but I saw a lot of fish! If i didn't have an under water camera I don't think I would make the effort. There is a lot of work involved in Ice fishing, but it was a beautiful day to be out on the Ice!
Thanks for the welcome! And I too would be fine with that one guy who likes Ayahuasca heading out of the Midwest...
Anyways, I've fished Minnewashta and Waconia a few times each, and they're decent lakes no doubt. But I'd love to get out on some of the structure on Minnetonka for an overnight sit.
You're probably right though. I know the lakes up north are better walleye destinations, but I'd like to get out closer to the area.
Thanks again, and tight lines!
