What aquatic invasive species are found in North Fowl Lake?
There are some aquatic invasive species found in North Fowl Lake including spiny waterflea.

Join us in the fight to prevent the spread of invasive species These sneaky creatures can hitch a ride on boats, clinging onto propellers, anchor lines, and trailers. They can even survive in hidden places like bilge water and ballast tanks, or disguise themselves in dirt and sand that sticks to nets, buckets, anchors, and waders. But don't worry, we have the power to stop them in their tracks with just a few simple steps. So let's do our part and protect our waters from these unwanted invaders.

History & Status of the Fishery

The 1998 walleye catch was high for lakes of this class, but not for this lake historically. The walleye population was entirely natural, and several year classes were included in the catch. Walleye growth rates appeared to have been fairly fast for a lake of this class, probably due to the presence of an excellent yellow perch forage base.Yellow perch were abundant, and many large fish were present. Yellow perch growth had also been relatively fast. The northern pike catch was about average for lakes of this class, and for this lake historically. Smallmouth bass were present; although none were taken in gill nets, YOY fish were collected in 1/4-in-mesh trap nets used in 1998.

Spent a week at Ron's Lodge on NFL. morning fishing was hot for perch, smallies and walleyes, off the bluff across from the lodge. Can't wait to get back. In the evenings fish south fowl lake.
