History & Status of the Fishery
Crow Lake was found to be a shallow, muck-bottomed lake, with aquatic vegetation dominated by floating-leaf burreed, bladderwort, and water milfoil. Walleye were present in average numbers for a lake of this class, and the population was self-supported. Northern pike abundance appeared to have been about average, but their size was very good for this area. Fish as large as 37 inches were found. Yellow perch were present in fair numbers, with some large enough to interest anglers. Although the lake was very shallow, there were no indications that it had winterkilled in recent years, and there was no record of any winterkill in the past.
