I went out at Baypoint on the 14th and did get two sauger's up near the dam but had to launch over a coating of ice I had to break ice over most of the bay. Would like to go out this week but am not sure if possible depending on ice. If anyone knows the condition at Baypoint please post.

Got down to the river yesterday. Handlined up a few fish. Most were in them 15"-19" range with one at 22". Was nice to get back on the water after a bit of a dry spell. This weekend is MN's inland opener. I won't be out Saturday for the first time in years, but should get out Sunday. Or maybe I should say I won't be out Saturday morning, but may get out at the cabin Saturday evening.
I thought the same. A buddy of mine was out on Saturday and got 11 saugers. Five over 14" (one at 17) and the rest were around 13". Plastics were working better than minnows. No walleyes, which is kind of all I am hearing so far this year out of pool 4.
