Walked down to lake front and fished for a few hours. Ice varied from 2.5 to 3 inches did not go all the way out there was a wet area and area was thinner than 2.5. We were marking fish in the area but were only able to catch one small bluegill. I think everything we were marking was to small to bite..see picture Be safe out there

Late report- I went out on Sunday afternoon (after I saw the Falcons beat the Seahawks). Set up in about 22 FOW, marked a few crappies right away, but couldn't get any takers. After that I only marked two or three fish close to the bottom, didn't catch a thing.

Fished from 9am to 5pm catching a bunch of sunfish and a few crappies. Spikes and waxies both worked on 4 mm fiska jigs. Color didn't see to matter. We caught fish in 8-22 fow. If fishing deeper look for suspended fish. The fish ranged from 4-8 inches for the sunfish and 5-9 inches for the crappies. Fun day, but moving around was painful with the wind and cold temps. Getting to be a lot of permanent houses there now.

Headed out on Tuesday afternoon. Set up in about 18' of water off of a gradual break. Managed one perch about 8" right before sunset. Will try a sharper break next time.

Looking for Crappie or Carppie? For Crappie start in mud bay on the south end of the lake. If its still to early try slow dragging the flat out in front of the mud bay entrance in a little deeper water. Good Luck
