Got out on Lake Jane with my buddy John a little over a week ago for some evening fishing. Things were slow until the last hour of sunlight. John caught a 27 inch northern and a bass. I got one bass and a northern.

Got out on Lake Jane around 12pm today. Fished for 2 1/2 hours in just about all of my favorite spots without catching anything. Just before I quit I changed to a different crankbait and caught three bass in just a few minutes.

Had some boat problems that cut into my fishing time on Saturday 5-30. I caught this bass on a twister tail jig with a spinner blade.

I went to Lake Jane Saturday in an attempt to catch some bass. The water temperature was 67F so it's down about 10 degrees from two weeks ago. I went to one of my favorite spots and pitched plastic worms without any luck. I moved shallower without any hits. Next up, trolling. I caught three northern pike using a Chrome Perch Rapala Shad Rap number 7 in 10-14 feet of water. I think the cold front affected the bass fishing.

I had a decent day of fishing on Lake Jane yesterday. The total count was 5 bass and one northern. I got the northern on a curly tail jig and spinner combo. One bass hit a Fleet Farm available only Chrome Perch Shad Rap number 7 while trolling. I caught the rest of the bass on a plastic worm in 8 to 12 feet of water while jigging off the bottom. The biggest bass was 14 inches.

Got out on Lake Jane today with the nephew-in-law and the soon to be nephew-in-law. The young guys out-fished me. They each caught 6 fish and I landed 5. Among the fish were bass, northerns, bluegills and a bullhead. They hit sucker minnows, plastic worms, curly tail jigs and Shad Raps. We still fished, casted, drifted and trolled.

Another beautiful day on Lake Jane. I usually rotate between Lake Elmo, Lakes DeMontreville and Olson and Lake Jane. The last three times fishing for me have been on Lake Jane though. If you can't catch anything casting, you can usually get fish by trolling the lake. The first fish was a largemouth bass on a plastic worm. You can't let them jump because they'll spit the hook. Well, the bass did just that and spit the hook about ten feet from the boat. The next cast, I caught a northern on the same plastic worm. I did a mixture of casting and trolling the rest of the trip and landed four northern pike, one largemouth bass and three big bluegills that hit big lures.
