Fishing Report for the week(+) of 7/22-7/29:
7/22: Sunny with light winds. Hooked but lost an upper-30's muskie on a perch pattern Crane 208 crankbait in 8 ft of water on the point between shore and bouys. Aggressive follow from a mid-20's muskie on a flourescent orange Mepps Giant Killer bucktail in 6 ft of water. Both fish were active between 9-930 am.
7/25: Partly cloudy with moderate winds from the NW and incoming rain. Active bait fish, but no active muskies were noted between 7pm and 9pm.
7/26: Overcast with moderate winds from the NW. Caught a 26" northern on the northwest side of the lake on the weedline in 6 ft of water on a perch pattern Bagleys DB08 crankbait at 930am. Caught a 15" northern on the "bouyed flat" in 6 ft of water on a fire tiger pattern Mini Medussa. Caught another 26" northern on the "buoyed flat" in 8 ft of water on a fire tiger pattern Burt jerkbait (both fish at around 1030am). Had an aggressive follow from a mid-20's muskie on a gold/orange 9" Suick jerkbait on the weedline between the willows and the beach in 8 ft of water (12pm).
7/28: Sunny and calm. Missed a strike on a gold/orange 9" Suick on the weedline in 8ft of water north of the fishing platform on the west side of the lake (1015am)
7/29: Sunny and calm. Caught a 28" northern on a walleye pattern Phantom 7.5" jerkbait along the weedline between the water way and the main lake basin (on the main basin side). Caught a 32" tiger muskie on a gold/orange 9" Suick jerkbait in the same place (within 3 casts of one another). Three casts later, an aggressive follow from a low-30's muskie on the same Suick. Action all happened between 845-930am.
Cool overnight temperatures mid- to late-week have dropped water temperatures into the mid-70's in the mornings.
