Knowing that the walleyes have been done spawning for quite some time, I expected the Foot to be a little tough, and it was, no surprise here, but it's a tradition thing for me.

We worked all our usual spots for most of the morning with only a few keepers being caught, and one 21 1/2"er. We used strictly jigs and spottails.

With the wind taking a mid morning break, we decided to try and salvage the day out on Winnie.

Jig and about a three inch minnow was the ticket to a decent bunch of fish. They were found anywhere from 8' to 12' on an outside corner of a flat. We also caught a couple on the weed line in front of the beach. Northlands Gami in black and pink was by far the best color, ( it's a UV jig).

Talked to a friend who said the crappie bite was poor, but it was awful windy.
