St. Helen is a good lake for a mixed bag of fish. It really does'nt matter what your fishing for, your bound to catch somthing else along with what your fishing for. I'm only 31 but have been fishing this lake since i was a little kid, and it only seems to be getting better. I fish at least twice a week out here and primarily fish for walleye and crappie. The funny thing is you can use the same bait to catch them and you will also catch bluegill, perch, pike and bass. You would think because its an inland lake that the walleye arnt very big, but i just had one on the other night that snapped 8# fireline. It hwas the biggest walleye i have seen in this lake, i am quessing it was from & to 9 pounds. it really didnt put up a fight untill i got it close to the boat, so i didnt have my net ready, it was still tied up because i was crappie fishing and wasn't readdy for it what so ever! So if you decide to fish here, and catch a nice walleye with a green and purple jig still in its mouth, let me know will you. thanks, Mike
