The bite was much better this year. We caught 41 bass between 2 boats (4 guys) in one day. Black plastic worms and chartreuse and blue spinner baits worked well.

Fished Fletcher's this past weekend. Very windy. Bite was slow. Did catch a few Largemouth that went over 16". Only a couple of pike, but one did go over 30". This fishery seems to have gone downhill over the past few years. We go up every year the same weekend and we used to catch 20+ fish per day now it's down to 2-4 fish per day. Not sure why. Did see some Cormorants.

We were at Jack's Landing for a week. Fished every day. A couple of days of a bit overcast and windy. Most days were HOT and breezy. We had to move frequently to find any fish worth keeping. More deep water fishing produced for us better than shallower. Edge of weeds in 'shallows' were best. Less weedy and deeper (dark water) produced better for us. If you can tolerate the trees, logs, branches, and stumps, then it's fine. It certainly isn't a lake to take chances on with your boat motor! Of course early morning and later evening were the better times. Morning shallow....mid-day deep....evening shallow. Didn't catch the bass (size) we had hoped, however, many people did. Our large mouths ranged between 14 1/4" to 16 1/4". We didn't weigh ours but, there were 4, 5, & 6 pounders being caught. As far as pike....we caught 2 while there. Barely keepers. We saw several others though, who had caught much larger than we had. Caught several very nice fat slab size blue gill, sun fish, white & black crappie, large perch, and bullhead. Spinners, weedless silver spoon, crawlers, and leeches. We tried live pike minnows but had no luck on those. Loved having no major power boaters, skiing, jet skiing, tubers, etc., on the lake. We only saw 'one' boater blow a shaft because he was foolish enough to speed around the lake. Saw a few others that were foolish as well, but they were lucky and hit nothing significant. There was a Bass Invitational going on to. Cool
