Finished part of 10 days of vacation with 4 perch trips on good days. More than a few limits mostly (8/9-17) 40-55 feet deep. 8/17 tried deep water (65') for three hours did not lose a minnow it was so slow. Finally went back to a drift 44-48 feet on a perfect SW wind. At 1 PM just ran into them like crazy. Had 3 rods in water and had 2 doubles and a single at once. Took about 90 minutes to get 30 and run out of minnows. A Lund boat with 3 guys from Holland came out as I was leaving at PM, tried same drift, watched them hook up 4 times in 3 minutes as I watched. They wanted me to stay for good luck but had to leave. Adam from Pyles Porthole said another boat of 3 guys got limit in 55' during a few morning hours. Caught almost all perch on all trips on Perch Pounder II perch rig on either green or orange. Rig has a colored small piece of fish skin (mackerel) placed above and close to hook with the usual beads above. Made by White River Tackle in Hesperia, Mi. Beat flies and almost everything else. Pyles sells them but they go fast.
