Only times I ever do any good crappie fishing here through the ice is a few days before a full moon, during, and a few days after a full moon and fishing after dark. Used to have a permanent shack out there and that was only time we did any good, but has been a few years since fishing out there.

I have fished it a handful of times in the winter... I'd say it's not to good however it has been a while and I was only able to walk out there each time so maybe if you had a way to be more mobile and search it better. I have personally never done good enough on panfish in this lake to want to try it again.

Does anyone have any info on ice fishing carney lake? I have fished it in the summer but never in the winter. My mother in law pulled in a 14" crappie on a crawler harness while trolling for walleyes. Is this a good crappie lake in the winter?

I fished this lake for the first time last week, and though I was targeting walleye, I had a lot of fun reeling in northern's all night. We did catch one walleye, but it was only 9" long. I am going to go back and see if I can find a few more, but for those of you interested in pike, this lake is really hot right now. Most were in the 20-25 inch range, but there was a lot of action. Anyone else find any walleye out here?
