Lake Wisconsin is a flowage created around 1920 with the building of the power dam by Wisconsin Power & Light Co. at Prairie du Sac. The area of the lake is between 9,000 and 10,000 acres.

Fishermen will be delighted at the variety of fish found in Lake Wisconsin and the Wisconsin River. Sturgeon, muskie, white and black bass, catfish and walleyes are just a few of the mouth-watering meals waiting for you to catch and prepare right in your own cottage. What better relaxation is there? Spending a day our on the water and then enjoy the aroma of fish crackling in the frying pan while you visit with family and friends.

We are less than a tank full of gas away from Milwaukee (100 miles), Rockford (100 miles), Racine (125 miles) or Chicago (175 miles).

Accommodations...
Our clean, modern housekeeping cottages are three rooms each. Every cottage has two double beds and two twin beds for your relaxation. Beds are made with blankets on for your convenience. The modern kitchens make cooking a breeze and clean-up quick and easy. They all have microwaves, refrigerators, electric stoves, electric frying pans, toasters, regular coffee pots, dishes and basic cooking utensils await you. (No towels furnished for weekly rentals)

Gas wall units are used for heat for your comfort.

We are a private resort intended for our guests only - this can be your total one-stop vacation if you wish.

For Your Pleasure...
Capt. Long John's Family Resort is a small resort intended as a haven for our guests to come relax and enjoy the water. We have one of the nicest views on the lake. Our beach has a sandy bottom only waist deep at the end of the pier and there are volleyball nets both in and out of the water. We have a canoe, paddle boat and a 12 ft. row boat for you to enjoy. There is a campfire pit where you can gather to visit with family and friends or you can use on of the several chair groupings. Picnic tables and grills are available too.

We have a hoist for your boat. If you don't have a boat you can rent one from Bridge Bait & Tackle (608/592-4806) which is only a block away. Pontoon boats are also available for rent. Fishermen can load their boats and go anywhere on the lake or river. We have an extra freezer for that big catch and a camera for those extra nice ones.

We also have a light to bring you back after dark. Anyone who wants to go for a moonlight boat ride or out for dinner by boat (our favorite) can easily find their way back. There are several excellent restaurants along the shore of the lake and river or within a short driving distance.

We are nestled between private homes... here for you to enjoy your family and friends staying with us. We try to have everything convenient and in good taste for our guests.
